Heilongjiang Ning'an Farm was built in June 1947, and it is one of the first state-operated farms throughout the country. To its south is famous Jingbo Lake tourist resort, and to its north is the City of Mudanjiang. The Farm covers an area of 141.0km 2 , and its total population is 7,000. Gross social produce is RMB100 million, and total industrial and agricultural produce is 80 million Yuan. It is comprehensive farming enterprise that is based on agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry, focused on industry and combines operations of a good variety.

So far, the Farm has an arable land of 7,500 hectares, including 4,000 hectares inside Ning'an, and 3,500 hectares inside Hulin County. There are 5,500 hectare of forest, 1,700 hectare of rivers and prairie, and 2 wells of mineral water. The Farm has 2,800 workers, including over 500 technical personnel at all level. The Farm has 14 production bases for grain, pig, fish raising, spotted deer, red deer, seeds and fruit, etc; and there are 6 industrial enterprises for building materials, beer, malt, mineral water, wheat powder and boiler, etc. The products include 6 major series of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, cuisine, light industry, machine manufacturing and building material and over 40 varieties.
