The Farm No.858 of Heilongjiang Province, located at 45°30'- 45°55'N, and 133°02'—133°30'E and adjacent to the China-Russia boundary in where faces Russia across the Ussri River, is the location of "Hulin Port", a national Category-1 land port.

The Farm No.858, built in April 1956, covers the total area of 724 square kilometers., including the existing cultivated land of 400,000 mu (1 mu = 0.0667 hectare), water of 100,000 mu, grassland of 186,000 mu, woodland of 152,000 mu, swampland of above 100,000 mu. Based on the total population of 20,000 and annual value of production of RMB 420 million yuan, it has become a large-sized paddy rice specialized state-owned farm which integrates the agriculture, industry, commerce, trade into one entity. With the more than 40 years of development and construction, the farm has possessed the rich and powerful material, economical, technological, cultural and scientific basics.

There are rich water-grass resources in the farm where the Hukou wetland along the river, with an area of 120 square kilometers, is the provincial natural reserves of Heilongjiang Province. In the reserves, there are four rivers and star-studded marshes. For the lasted several years, the farm has speeded up the economic structure improving process. Nowadays, there are a cultivation plant with the annual yield of 200,000 ecological duck and geese, a river live box fish cultivation test base, a high-efficiency energy-saving special melon, fruit and vegetable greenhouse base, milk and beef cow base, a 1,000-mu river crab cultivation base. What's more, the farm has developed the northland ecotourism spots such as small Mulenghe Reservoir, Nanjieji and etc featuring with the inland wetland and lake, forest scenery. At present, the farm is zealously preparing to build a 5-million geese and 10-million ecological duck cultivation base.

Focused on the good faith and the policy of delivering the green products, the farm has re-enforced the effort to develop the organic, green, and nuisance-free foodstuff. In the whole region of farm, a 400,000-mu paddy rice cultivation area is approved as the green food base, and a 10,000-mu organic paddy rice base is also certified by the EU International Organization, in addition, some full-agricultural-reclamation nuisance-free agricultural products bases are approved as sample ones. Based on the geographical advantages of port, the farm has enjoyed the import-export operations right and trade management right, and, with all-round goods and storage facilities, developed several years of commercial intercourse with Russia.
