Located in the southwest of Mishan City, the Hei Longjiang Provincial No.857 Farm is bordered by Wanda Mountain in the north and Little Xingkai Lake in the south with the total area of 567 square kilometers. Founded in 1951, the farm has the cultivated land area of 500,000 acreages (mu) and 20,000 people, of which 8700 are employees, and is a large-sized state-owned farm with all-round development of farming, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline and fishery and integrated management of industry, commerce, transportation, architecture and service. With the predominance of farming, the farm mainly produces rice, wheat, bean, corn with the annual foodstuff output of 230,000 tons, annual profit of ￥ 60,000,000 RMB and per capita income of ￥ 7,000 RMB. The farm has successively won the titles of Provincial Model of Civilized Unit, National Advanced Unit of Spiritual Civilization Construction and National Advanced Unit of Cultural Services, and the Farm Committee of CPC was awarded the title of Provincial Advanced Grass-roots Party Organization in 1995, 1997 and 1999 respectively.
